Niagara is a replica of the ship that used during the Battle of the Lake Erie 1812 by Commodore Oliver Hazard Perry that defeated the British. Niagara continuous to sail at various exhibition and historical shows, but due to state funding cuts the ship is expected to stop sailing. As a move, Flagship Niagara League have been distributing donation cards saying "Keep Niagara Sailing". By September they are hoping to raise about $200,000 to keep Niagara sailing.
